The Australian Dental Association (ADA) is the premier national body representing the dental profession across Australia. Committed to promoting the ethics, art, and science of dentistry, the ADA also focuses on enhancing the oral and general health of the public through its member services and public engagement initiatives. Recognising the need for a digital transformation to better serve its members and the public, the ADA partnered with Revium to overhaul its outdated public website and streamline its event booking and sales processes.
The ADA faced multiple challenges with its existing digital infrastructure. Firstly, the public website was operating on an unsupported version of Kentico, making a direct upgrade unfeasible due to the outdated Portal Engine technology it was built on. This necessitated a complete rebuild of the website. Secondly, the ADA's iMIS version required an upgrade, and they sought to align this upgrade with the Kentico overhaul for efficiency. Furthermore, the ADA aimed to enhance their event booking and sales process, a critical revenue stream that was managed across federal and state levels but lacked cohesion and efficiency.
Revium embarked on a comprehensive digital overhaul for the ADA, selecting Kentico 13 for the website rebuild. Kentico 14 was considered but ultimately not chosen due to its immaturity and missing features crucial for the ADA's needs.
A notable first for Revium, the Kentico 13 implementation heavily utilised the Page Builder feature, significantly improving the editor experience.
The solution featured a deep integration with iMIS, including single user sign-on via the iMIS Open ID provider and Web API integration for syncing event and member details.
Revium implemented ImageBoss, a third-party tool, for dynamic image rendering optimisation, ensuring the website's performance was both fast and responsive.
The partnership between the ADA and Revium resulted in a highly successful digital transformation.
The new Kentico 13 website is fast, responsive, and offers a seamless user experience, with upgraded capabilities and integration levels between Kentico and iMIS.
This solution not only modernised the ADA's digital presence but also streamlined the event booking and sales process, significantly enhancing the organisation's operational efficiency and member service capabilities.
The project, completed over nine months with an initial delivery at six months, involved 20 Revium staff members and demonstrated the importance of clear requirements and the creation of a Proof of Concept (POC) before full-scale implementation.
The approach ensured that the technology stack fully met the ADA's needs and highlighted Revium's agile methodology and commitment to delivering innovative, quality digital solutions.
