Instantly Summarise Web Pages & Video Using AI

Do you have a constant stream of content that you see in your feeds, or content that gets sent to you by colleagues and friends, but you struggle to find time to read it all? Or perhaps you just want an overview of a lengthy article or video before you invest time in deep diving into it?

It's well know that one of generative AI's strongest capabilities is in content summarisation. This approach makes it easier to quickly leverage that capability, as well as adding some clever prompting to ensure you get a concise and accurate summary along with a few little value adds. Check out the sample below...

Instructions

1. You need to install an "AI Summary" web browser plugin that connects to ChatGPT and that allows for custom prompting - for Chrome you can use ChatGPT >> Summarize & Chat *

2. Next you need to insert your Open AI API key

3. If you don't have an Open AI account, you will need to set up one (note that this is not a ChatGPT account) - you can do that here

4. You will need to set up billing - they will bill you $10 in advance and you pay based on consumption, as an example for 100 article summaries you should expect to pay around $2. As with any API key you shouls set spend limits to prevent any risk of abuse.

5. Once you have your account, generate an API key and enter it in the settings page of the chrome plugin

6. The final step is to customise the prompts - generally the prompts these plugins have by default are pretty good, but they can be improved upon, below is the set of prompts we use...
